Dylan for President

Dylan Paul Zinser Katz was born at about 5:15 am on the 4th of February, 2006. He arrived a pinkish shade of healthy, unscathed but for a dose of road rash crowning his fresh face. This blog is a place for family and friends to share images, media and commentary surrounding Dylan's exciting first years. This will, over time, become an archive and as well as a forum.

Thanksgiving & Birthdays

Dylan celebrated Thanksgiving in Lake Arrowhead at his Auntie Victoria and Uncle Dwight's beautiful mountain home. On our nature walk in the backyard, Dylan likes clapping his hands with his daddy!
Dylan is the happy Buddha while sitting on the Buddha carving made from a tree stump in Victoria and Dwight's backyard. (Don't worry Nonny is holding Dylan from behind - you just can't see him at this angle.)

He had fun with all of his uncles - Josh, Adam and Uncle Stan. Dylan was most interested in Buster (the LaVers very cute and sweet dog), Otis and Leo (the less shy cats - Mandy stayed away from the hubub).

And then started the Birthday celebrations with Dave and Norman's birthdays. Dylan helped make it a fun birthday for Daddy and Nonny!

Crawling and New Food

Dylan started crawling on Sunday, November 19, 2006. And now he is really, really fast. He is having so much fun with the whole crawling thing that he has lost interest in most of his toys. Joe, our cat, is not as pleased about this new development.

Dylan's other big step is that he has started eating small foods - like Cheerios or small pieces of fruit and bread. Dylan also enjoys "feeding" himself. Sometimes meal time is super messy but fun!

The rocking chair that Dylan is sitting on was made by Pa (with Big D's input I am sure) for my cousin Corrie (who is right now an actress in NYC). Aunt Marcia gave it to me at my baby shower in St. Louis. I am so glad that Aunt Marcia kept that chair all of these years. Dylan loves playing with it - and it is a little bit of Pa and Big D still with us out here in California.
