Dylan for President
Dylan Paul Zinser Katz was born at about 5:15 am on the 4th of February, 2006. He arrived a pinkish shade of healthy, unscathed but for a dose of road rash crowning his fresh face. This blog is a place for family and friends to share images, media and commentary surrounding Dylan's exciting first years. This will, over time, become an archive and as well as a forum.

A first Update from Kelly, February 14, 2006. 8:45 pm
Dylan had his first Dr’s appointment today and Pepita came with us (which really helped and allowed me to actually shower today). When he was born he was 7 lbs, 10 oz and now he is a whopping 8 lbs, 9 oz! Obviously he is a good eater!
The doctor said that his circumcision looks good – so I am relieved – caring for that whole thing was a bit stressful at times. And for those who we have not spoken with or who were unable to make it – the bris went really well. Dylan didn't cry until the end of the ceremony when he was getting hungry. We had a female mohel, Dr. Elizabeth Lyster, who was very positive and great with Dylan. She is the daughter of Adam and Josh's pediatrician. Also, it turns out that the bris was on my grandmother (Big D’s b-day) – which I did not know until the next day but I think that makes it extra special. Pepita did a great job getting everything together (yes it was at the Katz’s) and Jackie, Adam and Josh were the honorary godparents and Norm was the one who held him during it – another honorary role.
My mom just left this past Saturday and was a huge help to us and she really bonded with Dylan. She is going to meet us in Las Vegas in March where we have the Help-U-Sell Convention so that she can take care of Dylan. Mom had given us a Lazy Boy rocker that we have already put to a lot use - I can't believe how often I am in that chair feeding Little D.
As for Dave and I - we are doing well. Dave is a great dad and Dylan loves getting his time in with him. Dave usually takes over in the evenings so I can go and take a nap - with earplugs. The pediatrician just let me know that I can start pumping and so Dave will start with some bottle feeding pretty soon too which will help with my sleeping. Dave is super-busy with work (he got 2 new listings last week) and we have a few high maintenance deals right now too. But it is good that our biz is busy!!
I am good - mainly just sleep deprived!!! And I have limited phone time right now because of the numerous feedings and Dylan's active time. I have also been working from home a bit to help Dave out.
We are really having fun with him and although I have nothing to compare it to - everyone says that Dylan is a very good baby. I can tell you this - he makes cute dolphin sounds, sucks on his bottom lip, sometimes sounds like he is laughing, he does a little growl after sneezing sometimes and has really long eyelashes and blue eyes like his daddy. We are really enjoying him and every little thing he does!
We will keep everyone posted and we promise to post some pictures soon - once Dave has time to figure that out!
